Personal Robotics User Interface
Working with the Intel Research Lab in Pittsburgh, I was on a team with six other individuals from backgrounds in Computer Science, Communications, and Software Engineering working together to design a user interface for a personal robot for the elderly and mobility-impaired.
I conducted user research using contextual inquiries extensively, to fully understand the needs of the users in the context of where the robot would be used: the homes of the elderly and mobility-impaired.
Methods: Contextual inquiry, contextual Work Models, Prototyping (Paper and Fully-Functional), Bodystorming, Think-aloud

The final deliverable, heavily based on research and iterative design, was a user-interface design for communication between users and a personal robot built to help the mobility impaired in performing autonomous household tasks.
